Our Rabb! We have wronged our souls. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall certainly be of the losers. Al A'raf, 7 ayah 23.

The reality

" ..these are the times when we have taller buildings but shorter tempers ; wider highways but narrower viewpoints; spend more but have less ; buy more but enjoy less ; bigger houses but smaller families ; more conveniences but less time ; more degrees but less sense; more knowledge but less judgment ; more experts yet more problems ; more medicine but less wellness.."

The sins of a believer are a reminder to not let his/her piety become a trial for him/her, because piety without reliance on God is Hypocrisy

... Key reminders from Surah Al-Kahf. What fitna' means? Four types of fitna :
1) Fitna of faith (eeman)
2) Fitna of wealth
3) Fitna of knowledge
4) Fitna of power.
Ya'Allah, save us from the trials, that which is obvious and that which is hidden. Ameen.

"For those of you who ask for signs, have We not shown you enough already?"

Listen to this aussie's journey in discovering the real purpose of life ... At one point, when he had the translated Quran with him, he was at the edge of the cliff, ready to jump (into the deen of Islam) and he then asked God (Allah) to show him a sign, just a little sign to give him that last push but nothing happened.. and he was disappointed. He put back the Quran thinking there isnt any sign for him... and suddenly he saw the next ayah (verse) in the Quran mentioned, "For those of you who ask for signs, have We not shown you enough already?" ... SubhanaAllah ... my hair stands upon hearing this part..

Lessons of A Traveler

Leave your country in search of loftiness and travel! For in travel there are five benefits:
  • Relief of adversity,
  • Earning of livelihood,
  • Knowledge,
  • Etiquettes, and
  • Noble companionship.”
